In our Athens ofc, we now have a machine to test BUN/Creatinine at our center. We follow the ACR standards regarding contrast injections and patient safety. If a patient has had a history of a previous contrast reaction or contrast allergy, has a histroy of renal disease, has diabetes, or is over 70 then we need to have a current (within 3 months) creatinine level. If the patient does not have a current level already on file, then we will check their BUN/Creatinine before we do their exam to ensure they are safe to receive the contrast. If we determine that the patient cannot be given contrast then we will contact your office to let you know and see how you would like us to proceed. This is only currently available at our Athens location.
